I don't really like Pisa since it's such a normal place, and when I'm traveling through Europe I want every place I visit to blow my brains. The tower was cool, but that's honestly all there was.

Cheap Macro

I fairly recently got an m42 mount 28mm f/2.8 lens, which isn't very much fun on its own due to the fact that it's manual focus and not terribly sharp wide open. Having been an idiot with my money, I also bought a set of m42 extension tubes, which I forgot about until a few days ago. I had tried them on my 135mm f/2.8 weeks before, but that lens performed quite poorly with them. Putting the tubes on the 28mm lens made it hugely more fun, and since macro is usually done at f/8 and above, the wide open sharpness doesn't matter. Check out the slideshow for some of the results (the indoor ones were with flash)

5D MarkII Video

I took lots of video with Ashcon's new 5D yesterday, here is the result. Much of this was filmed with an M42 mount Lenmar 135mm f/2.8, which gives manual aperture and focus control.
